DAW708 - Lupin breeding in Australia - AGWEST component
Lupin breeding continues to support the lupin industry by producing varieties with improved grain yield, disease resistance, herbicide tolerance and quality. There were a number of significant developments in lupin breeding which included the national release of a new narrow-leafed lupin variety, Mandelup , the introduction of marker assisted selection for anthracnose resistance,…Region: West

DAW711 - Development of molecular marker and mapping technology for lupin…
The microsatellite-anchored fragment length polymorphisms (MFLP) technology, developed in this research group, was successfully employed in the development of molecular markers tagging disease resistance in lupins. Markers were used to screen 2,715 breeding lines in 2002, 7,523 in 2003 and 6,269 in 2004 for disease resistance. This is the first time that marker technology has been used in…Region: West
